I was checking out some Male Betta fishes at Wal-Mart and saw that 83%(5/6) of them were dead.

Unfortunately Wal-mart will always sell fish because newbies will be intrigued while window-shopping and experienced fish owners who have grown sentimental over fish will rescue them. Sigh.

dude walmart is such a bad store to get fish! i looked in the goldfish tank and i saw at least 20 dead and clinging onto the filter vent! and when i got some goldfish there, the employee lady dumped them in the bad and spun the bag around and around while the goldfish inside were strugging to stay alive! such a douche!!!

This is super sad, all a matter of supply and demand. The worst part is that people buy these fish and a day or two later are heartbroken because their fish is dead and they’ve lost their money. Only buy from breeders or FISH shops! If you find one in walmart, a petstore or some othere chain store that kind of looks okay, then adopt him. He can and probably will regain health and be a lovley, cheap Betta.

Sadly I didn’t because I was not sure about having a fish for a pet at the time. But I believe I came back a day or two later to check on them and the shelves were empty with no fishes. So that meant either that last one got bought or it died. Later on I did buy my cousin one for his BDay but it didn’t last to long. We bought a total of 5 bettas from this Wal-mart and they all didn’t last a week.

the best way way to stop this is just,not buying fish at any walmart,it’s no just bettas,they sell any fish without telling you anything about it,I know there’s at least two Walmart near my house(Dallas,TX.) that are not selling fish anymore.

OMG I got my beta …
OMG I got my beta from petco but they were not deads. Betas were the only ones in little tubs but they were smaller than that. I asked petco why the tubs are so small and they said that they change the water for them every two days or so. I guess it was alright. On the way home my beta kept making poopies so i didnt add its water to the tank water. It is alive and well but WALMART SUCKS MY BETAS POOPIES
