How much does box turtle supplies cost?
the old gu that lives across the street from me has a box turtle, but doesn't have the money to buy any of the supplies, so i am going to buy the stuff for him. i was wondering how much the cheapest UV light, basking light, and cage/aquarium that can suit a box turtle would cost
does it have to have UV or basking light
And what tyoe of bedding do i use
And what type of bedding do i get, and how often does it need changed

So around $90!- )Or another option could be to get a bulb that has both uva AND uvb, which costs around $50, but it can fit inside of the dome shaped light fixture (#4)- so that would be $70, cheaper! But you might have to order it on the internet, because it might not be in the petstores.
Also since cages are expensive, tell him he can put the turtle inside of a large container, like a rubbermaid container, at least 30 gallons, bigger is much better though!He should feed the turtle lots of veggies- romaine lettuce, kale, mustard greens, carrots, bannana, turnip greens, dandelion greens, also worms like earthworms cut up. The turtle food should be powdered with a calcium supplement for turtles, that is around $5. Please get these things, it is really imoportant for the turtle. Oh yeah for the bedding, you can ask in petsmart which can be used for a box turtle, they will tell you. For everything else, get what i said.
