Can you put a betta fish with another kind of fish?
Me and my cousin are getting a betta fish! And we want to put another fish in the same tank! Please! Help! Help! Help!
Bettas would rather be alone. If you choose to add other fish you have to make sure there is no over crowding. The fish can't be aggressive, can have no long/flowing fins(bettas mistake them for other bettas), and the fish need to be very close in size to the betta. If they're too small the betta can eat them, if they're larger they may eat, injure or stress out the betta. The fish should also have the same tank requirements because bettas naturally live in very warm water and should have a heater set to about 79- 80 degrees.
You should just let him have his space.

No-the beta fish will kill the other fish. That is why you always seem them alone. Don't be cruel.

It would depend on what size tank you are using. You can put tetras and other fish in with a betta. You just can't put in fish that are aggressive or any fish with long flowing fins that could be mistaken for another betta (like angelfish), fancy guppies, etc.

Yes, you can. My son used to have a beta fish and we had it in a tank with 3 other fish. It is important that the other fish in the tank do not have large fins like the beta (that's why they can't be with another beta). If they do, the beta will see them as a threat and attack. I used to think that the beta fish had to be alone, but my local pet store corrected my thinking.

It depends on the betta. Some can be with other fish AFTER they get used to them. Have one of the fish in a bag inside the tank with the other fish and see what they will do. If they seem okay with eachother after a couple hours you can put them in the same tank but keep a net or something ready just in case. But it would probably be best if you had seperate tanks. The betta doesn't need a bubbler, filter, heater, ect. They are very easy to keep. Most other fish do better with those things.

I rehabilitate bettas.
no betta does not harm anyone they live with every fish except gold and geramy fish.because if your tank is not too big then betta harm gold fish.but geramy always kills betta fish except your fish tank is big.you add many of other fish with your betta fish.

here are soe do's and dont's for ya
let me start with DONT's
put the betta in a tankwith fast moving water, it will eventually stress and kill the betta.
put any fish that are agressive to any level, including goldfish. they may do fine for a little while but once the goldfish reaches a certain length, they tend to become nasty and nibble at slower moving fish such as the betta.
try to avoid fish that have big pretty fins like the betta. betta's a jealous creatures. lol.
try to avoid sharp decorations that the betta might run into and shred his fins.
and the obvious "dont" put it with another betta.
DO's
try to keep him in a tank no larger than a ten gallon, but no smaller than a five gallon, with a good filter, without fast moving currents.
if the currents are too strong, put plants in there to help defuse the currents. floating plants are great.
if you decide to put fish inthere with him try neons, rummynose tetras, rasboras, silvertip tetras, african dwarf frog, small non aggressive fish.
do make sure that the temp does not drop below 72. anyting lower is too close to danger. look for a good water heater.
umm i think i ran out of ideas, but neways be careful when introducing a betta with other fish. it's kind of a hit or miss type of deal. since bettas are not meant to be with other fish.
good luck and hope this helped.
