Betta fish that likes to be petted
This is my betta, Cauliflower. I don’t even remember how I discovered it, but apparently he likes to be petted…and to jump.

Thanks.
I …
I definitely agree about the cup thing.
Thanks.
Thank you.
Thank you.
They’ll definitely …
They’ll definitely get more used to you as time passes and more trusting. Each one will still always be unique though. I have one extremely shy betta who has always been like that, regardless of the fact that I’ve had him for almost 2 years now.
I agree, and that …
I agree, and that probably was a big part of the shock. But I’ve learned more about them and how to take better care of them each year, and that’s the most important thing.
No problem. Again, …
No problem. Again, I really do appreciate the comments. There is always room to learn more.
i’m glad to here …
i’m glad to here that you move them to a bigger tank when they get older. sorry to here that your other betta died:(
bettas are hard …
bettas are hard fish. that tank is just fine. the betta will be just as happy in there as he would be in a bigger tank. a .5 gallon setup is the smallest you should go, but the fish will still enjoy it as long as you change the water every 3-4 days. its not a big deal how big that tanks are, unless they are in a cup.
aww thats so cute i …
aww thats so cute i think tank is big enoug for it they can live in 2 gallons
I tried that with …
I tried that with mines but they didnt like it hehe
I think they need to get more used to me, it’s been less than one month i got them!
They actually do …
They actually do not like moving water. Their natural habitat is still or slow moving water in warm places.
Thank you for your …
Thank you for your concern; I do take all comments seriously. Please read my reply above on the matter.
I promise the bowl …
I promise the bowl isn’t as small as it may appear; it’s a 1 gallon. I did move one of my bettas to a 5 gallon tank with heat and filtration once. The size change actually shocked the fish, and it grew weak and sick. Eventually, it died. Since then, I have stuck with slightly smaller homes that still have plenty of swimming room where I change the water regularly. When the fish grow larger, I do move them to 2 gallon bowls. This ones was very young still in the video hence the 1 gallon bowl.
that bowl is to …
that bowl is to small
i hate seeing these …
i hate seeing these fish in small bowls!! just because they can be kept this way doesn’t mean that they should be. think of how much happier it would be in a big tank with space to swim and moving water.
Haha, that’s cute. …
Haha, that’s cute. MY betta used to nip at my finger when I hand fed him, but now I just dump in food for all my fish and he doesn’t recognize me anymore lol.
Thanks. He’s too …
Thanks. He’s too old to breed now, but I’ll probably breed a younger one after I get settled in my new house/apartment.
No problem. I guess …
No problem. I guess what I said didn’t come out right though. It’s fine if you have a pump in there; I just mean that it’s not vital for the fish to live. But either way will work, so good luck with your betta. I hope he lives a long, happy life.
cool Betta u should …
cool Betta u should breed it
thanks . alot .. …
thanks . alot .. ill take the pump out
Sure. It’s …
Sure. It’s definitely a boy betta (they always have long flowing fins and usually are brighter in color), and no, you shouldn’t need a pump in the tank as long as you do water changes every week or so. Their natural habitat is actually kind of murky water, so they don’t need filtration, but they still need to have their bowl cleaned out.
thanks , can you …
thanks , can you tell me if mine is a boy or girl his video on my account is … bubles the betta fish jammin
. please & thanks .. if its possible . & should i have a pump in my tank?
Basic care: bowl …
Basic care: bowl should be at least 1 gallon, always make sure you add water conditioner when cleaning the bowl, never use soap to clean anything in the bowl, clean the bowl out about once a week, and feed them about 3-6 pellets a day. I don’t recommend touching them much at all. My fish actually brushed against my finger repeatedly on his own, which is how I discovered his likeness for being petted, though I hardly ever do it. A good site for more betta info is BettaTalk. Hope that helps!
Thanks.
Thanks.

About 3 years now. He was shy at first, but he actually turned out to be my most active and social betta.
