I talk about my beloved Bettas
Music: “Playing With Pink Noise” by Kaki King
(08-13-2007) Just an update: My betta named Jesus has left us. He went over the weekend after a long battle with a fungus and I believe a swim bladder disorder. He will be missed.

ummmmm wat should i get for my lillte betta plz message me
They dont come from …
They dont come from stagnant water….
they were found in rice fields and slow flowing streams, not a GALLON of water in which ammonia builds up VERY quickly. and which feels like your living in a volcano.
About the name …
About the name thing. I also have an off sense of humor. My beta fish is a chill little dude. I have never seen him flair. I named him Cullen because, if you have ever read Twilight, the Cullens are Vampires who are not violent. Cullen the fish is a very easy going and seemingly nonviolent beta fish.
is it a boy or a …
is it a boy or a grl i meen the person
Look…I tried a …
Look…I tried a pump, my once active happy Betta became listless hanging on the bottom..hiding from ‘ all those bubbles ‘. I took the pump out and in seconds he was back to normal…swimming, dancing and just being a ‘ Betta ‘. “Blue Runner” hates air pumps! Never again! : )
I agree. They don’t …
I agree. They don’t come from filtered water, they come from shallow pools of nearly stagnant water and with as often as you need to change the water in their bowls, the water should never get to the point of being STAGNANT. Filter is not necessary for a Betta.
I you need a filter …
I you need a filter…then how in the world did the fish live this long? People will sell you anything you will buy…even if you don’t need it!
I sorta agree with …
I sorta agree with you, although the water they come from is not stagnte, and they do best with filters and heater, although there are some exeptions, im sure your bettas are quite happy though, i have my 2 boys in 5 gal tanks each with a filter and heater and some corys and neons as tankmates, but my new betta i got today is a rescue from a pet store that only had three left, & the other two were borderline dead they were all in tiny cups and freezing and dying. He is in 1.25 gal at the moment.
Very cool! Take …
Very cool! Take special care, they are a little more sensitive!

I <3 Betta fish! I just got a crowntailed male!
That’s awesome! …
Spring water shouldn’t be bad for him, just make sure it’s properly de-chlorinated and disinfected before you put it in his bowl. Thanks for the comment!
That’s awesome! Always glad to hear about like-minded people
haha omg we have …
haha omg we have similar views on the sense of humor level and on the way that we love bettas. lol, when i came home one day and saw my betta’s bowl full of bubble at the top i thought he has sick or something, i didn’t know it was bc he was happy….and i always buy spring water for him…i don’t know if that is a good thing or not…? but good job on you helpful vid.
That’s great! Mine …
That’s great! Mine do the same with the flaring, but the jumping for food isn’t happening lol. Glad to hear from another betta lover!
you kind of use all …
you kind of use all the same products i use for my bettas. i use aquarium salt, aquarisol, only i use stress coat instead of your water conditioner. I LOVE my bettas!!! they always jump for food. and flare at me.
True, if your home …
True, if your home is generally warm, then you probably won’t need a heater.Other than that you can get real cheap filters designed for bettas that will keep their water in pristine conditions for you. But if your fish are healthy with the maintenance schedule you provide then it must be working well. Good luck with the little guys!
This is true. It’s …
This is true. It’s pretty much give and take. You can pay for the water replacement every week or you can pay for a filter and heater. Though if you live in a generally warm home a heater may not be necessary. Thanks!
The problem with …
The problem with fish bowls is that you can’t place a heater in them. Bettas need warm temperatures or they get ill. Also if you keep them inside an unfiltered bowl, you need to change all he water once a week.
That’s very true! …
That’s very true! The bubbles are a definite sign the male is ready to mate. Feel free to ask for help when you get them! Thanks for the comment!
I’m getting 2 betta …
I’m getting 2 betta fish a male and a female i plan on breeding them to give away or sell so i will need you’r help on some things btw the bubbles might be a sing of being ready to mate because betta fish eggs sink but the male put’s them back up in the nest

that is quite easy to tell if it has short fins it is a female if long it is a male
yo yo yo the betta …
yo yo yo the betta master is here!!! if its a full grown betta, you can probably tell by the belly, if it’s bulgy and white or yellow that means its a female or it has a disease and will die soon. if you like you can post the vid up and we the viewers will give you the answer.
