Betta fish care and tips Version 2
A new and improved version of my previous betta fish care and tips video.
Also something i didn’t mention is water changing, change about 10-25 percent of the water weekly, look at your fish on a daily basis to make sure they are swimming around ok, and are normal and healthy. Some good tank mates for either males or females would be: Corydoras catfish, dwarf corys being the best as they only get to 1.5-2 inches and are great for smaller tanks, the other varieties are good if you have a larger tank, guppies, males or females, be carefull though as some Male bettas will think male guppies are enemies and might attack them, always have a backup plan incase yur fish dont get along, Neon tetras, glowlight tetras, harlequin rasboras, plecos(if you have a large tank) and mabey platies and mollies(more so if you have a female betta). Also i would reccomed getting a kh, gh, ph, ammonia, nitrite and nirtate test kits to monitor the levels in your own home.

I have 3 Betta Fish 1 is Black and white and is a male and 1 is red with a purple sheen to it and is also a male and the last one is all purplr and has 2 white lines going across the body and it is a female.

Many places, pet stores, breeders, importers, private dealers, places like that.
Best place is a breeder though, pet stores dont keep them very well and usually only have veiltail bettas, which i find quite boring.

o. i started to breed my betta 3 days ago and this is the first time that i ever breed fish besides guppies (boring). i found your video to be very informative and appreciate you making it. you seem to have some breeding experience so could you do me a favor and watch my betta videos and tell me if i’m doing anything wrong? thanx, i would really appreciate it.

As far as plants …
As far as plants goes, for a low mainenience i would reccomend anubias (usually attached to rocks or driftwood) lava moss, java fern, water sprite, and possibly lace fern. I have a planted 10 gallon tank, it is a endler guppy tank, aswell as a few cherry shrimp and a panda coydoras in there, and the plants just go CRAZY!!! the only light i use for it is a 12w desk lamp i got for like $30 australian dollars, and i give it a bit of flourish every know and then. Try to use fine gravel not coarse.

Ok cool, well a 3 gallon, ok say you have 1 male betta and 3 rasboras (the more of them the better, but since it is a small tank) make sure you have good brands of heating, lighting and a filter, if you can get a brand of heater called a JAGER, hey are VERY good, and for the filter i would reccomend a tetra in tank whisper 3i filter, and for the lighting, you can find a cheap dek lampat a home wares store for a good price, make sure it has a FLURO globe though.

LOL ok well, if you can soon i would reccomend large tank and something without plastic plants, the food you get in that kit is fine just be sure to substitute with frozen/freeze dried bloodworms and brine shrimp

OMG i just got a beta and i bought the exact same kit shown in ur video. EXACTLY THE SAME COLOR, GRAVEL AND PLANT. but my beta seems to be doing great. If i put up a video can you tell me if somethings wrong? I really love him because he is so unique and so shy. I feed him a few flakes a twice a day. He is the most gorgeous thing in the world to me ever since my hamster died. And he died of old age, incase you worried. He lived much longer than he should have anyway. I vent to much. Thanks you!

Well the best fish i could reccomend would be 1 otocinclus keep the tank clean, and 2 cory catfish to eat up any left over food at the bottom, wither pygmy cories or another small species such as panda cories.

if a betta never makes a bubble nest does that mean something is wrong? because the one in my 10gal has never made a nest but all other bettas ive ever had have made nests. he seems happy, he is active and everything

Well the bubbles are probably from the water changes, and he sounds lethargic, probably because the water is a little too cold, if the room is 75-83 f thats fine, but any lowerand its too cold, i would suggest getting an aquarium thermometer to monitor the temperature, and if the temp is not in the desired range, then i would also suggest getting a heater. Dont be afraid too feed him it wont hurt, is his physical condition ok? No weird white things or fins dissapearing?
i think my male …
i think my male betta fish is sick. he is in a 3 gallon tank now with room temp water. he is not active and sometimes lays at the bottom and comes up only for air, and he stays at the surface in a corner. i dont know what to do im afriad to feed him and i know that this isnt him cuz he is always excited when i c him and he knows when its feeding time. ive noticed that there are these smal bubbles on the plant and castle is this bad?
