Thank you. The tank has been running for just over a year now. I did the fishless cycle for 6 weeks before adding any fish, and then added fish a few at a time. With Angel’s, we got them when they were very small. They say if you get them when they are small they will grow up with smaller fish like Tetra’s and not consider them as food. Luckily we haven’t lost any fish to them.

With the Rams it’s …
With the Rams it’s fairly impossible to sex them.
The 4 we have in there, we were told they were all males as they don’t normally sell females. I would imagine the female Rams would be less colorful.

Thanks. That’s a good question. It depends on the type of fish. With Livebearers (Platies/ Mollies/ Guppies/ Swordtails) it’s the anal fin, that’s the fin between the belly and the tail. If it’s pointed and flat against the body it’s a male, if it looks like a regular fin it’s female. With Tetra’s the female’s are larger and plumper while the males are smaller and slim. Hope that’s some help to you.
