Jumping Betta Fish
This is my betta fish Foo, who I taught to jump to my finger a few weeks ago. The highest he can jump so far is about half an inch. My girlfriend wants me to teach him how to jump through a hoop eventually…
Anyway, if you want to teach a betta fish to jump, first just get it used to taking food from the tip of your finger. They can be scared at first. Then, each time you feed it, raise it a little higher and eventually it’ll jump to it. I had Foo jumping after only a few days. After your fish gets used to taking the food you can put your finger above the water without any and they’ll still jump! On Foo’s last jump in this video I gave him some food as a reward.
The song in the video is Supermarket Fantasy by Screeching Weasel, simply because it was the exact length that I needed.

This is how a betta TANK should be, fish are not supposed to be kept in bowls.
Bettas are tropical fish that live in huge rice paddies, this means they need a heater and a filter (on a cycled tank) and more than 2 gallons of water.
they also should’t usually be kept with fishes other than peacueful bottom dwellers, and in VERY rare cases communit. They however, should never be kept with other bettas regardless of them being male or female. They are called “siamese fighting fish” for a reason.
