72 gallon Bow Front Reef Aquarium
This is my saltwater reef tank its a 72 gallon bow front, I use a protein skimmer filtration system (is there any other? lol) and a calcium reactor which has been a pain to get working right, a 1200 gallons per hour water circulation pump, a 300 watt heater and a 1/5 hp Chiller to keep the water cool in the summer.
Lighting is 48″ CORALIFE Pro HQI Metal Halide/Compact Fluorescent with 4 LED Moonlights.
Currently I have 90 lbs of live rock, 1 Blue Hippo Tang (Dory), 1 Yellow Tang (Randy), 1 Kole Tang (Brownie), 2 False Percula Clown Fish (Marlin & Nemo), 1 Cleaner Wrasse (George) 1 Pacific cleaner shrimp (Delicious), 1 Blood Red Fire Shrimp (C0cktail Sauce), 1 Red Scooter Blenny (Dobby), 3 Goby Firefish (Larry, Curly & Moe) and two Pincushion Urchins.
My soft corals are a Green Bubble Coral, Green Closed Brain Coral, Frogspawn Coral, Purple Mushroom Coral, Orange Mushroom Polyp Corals aka Hairy Mushrooms, Colt Coral, an assortment of Polyp Corals and some Xenia Colony Corals,
Hard Corals are a couple of Capricornis corals and a Cats Paw coral.
So with 600 lbs of saltwater, 90 lbs of live rock and a stand which weighs around 100 lbs in all the entire tank weighs around 800 lbs.
I have to say that running a saltwater fish tank is a lot of work especially when youre doing a 10% to 20% water change every week but its so worth it once the eco system is running smoothly. It has taught me a lot about reef life and what it takes to keep them alive.
