Cold Saltwater Aquarium DIY project
This is a short video of my DIY approx. 2300 liter cold saltwater aquarium.
The tank is fed continuously with water from the fjord and has been up and running since early September.
The glass was not as clean as one might wish when I shot this, but at least you get an impression of how it looks. I’m not too good a filmmaker, so the camera work is shoddy at best.
Sorry about that.
Made this primarily for the people who have followed my DIY project since March this year, but I figured others might also enjoy it.
Marine fauna is Norwegian. Water temperature ranges between 4 degrees in winter and 16-19 degrees in summer.
Video was shot in November 09.

Homemade DIY Aquarium Filter

1 Gallon Saltwater Aquarium and Globe Ecosystems
1 Gallon Pico Reef, 1/2 gallon sealed SPS reef tank, 19 gallon bog terrarium globe, 75 gallon planted tank with Co2 injection. Keeping ecosystems in odd containers changes the chemistry and dynamics interestingly and has a direct correlation to evaporation rates, nitrate binding or export, and temperature stabilization to name a few.

certain shapes for the captive reef help the tricky balances to self-stabilize in time, and that is why you see the amount of life you do along with the video proof that this is not a plumbed or cheated system in anyway, it’s simply a fishbowl or vase reef. These were the first sub-gallon pico reefs invented that you will find on the internet, none are older and as long-lived with web documentation. if you’d like to research pico reef history start at Reefs.Org and reefcentral around 2002 and nano-reef.com
These forums paved the way for the explosion in popularity you see now with micro aquaria and document the progress of this layman’s science

10 gallon planted tropical fish tank update#3 (tetras, corys, pleco)
hello this is my 10 gallon planted tropical fish tank as u can see there are only tetras corys and a uncommon pleco in a well planted tank and this is sorta south american theme only thign out if place is some of the plants i think

1 rubble lip pleco (stays small and very uncommon hes in video thor)

well my gourami died and donated the guppy and molly but once i get a 29 gallon am takeing out the fisg and putting in my old fish like a blue and pink kissing gourami and a red tailed shark lol
well u seen my tank and very fast glimps of my 2 kittys soo yeah comemnt rate ask questions or wat ever u want to doo lol
