how to set up a freshwater fish tank fresh water all the basics
i really need to write a script or somthing …….. lol sorry for all the umms and ahhss dont think well on my feet but all the info is good though hope this helps some people….

Thanks man…I’ll look into those…from understanding you don’t want to have too little yet not too many of those cichlids because they are aggressive…but I guess having like four of them would be okay so that they don’t start coming down on each other…and I guess after like a good month or so I can add an algea eater

i think the problem most people have is what fish to stock their tank with…like me, personally, I have a 20 long just to start off and I’m still in a debate as to what to put in there. I’m not the biggest fan of tetras, mollies, etc any kind of small fish…I like cichlids, oscars, freshwater sharks…but most are too big to stick in a 20 long tank…want to through out a recommendation for me? any input would be appreciated.

i can tell you have not had oscars … they .like to rip plants out all the time … i probly have 40 dollars worth of plants that i cant use cuz they only stay in the rocks for mabey a week and then they are all floating at the top lol ….

I would use a python way easy to clean tanks just hook up to your facet and unscrew bottom where the facet is turn on cold full blast will empty a 180 gallon tank in under 10 minutes. Then all you do is screw in the bottom to fill up. All done in about fifteen minutes while filling up I would through in your chemicals.

I like ur Oscars. We had an Oscar that lived for 14 years lol, It didnt like anything else in the tank but itself and water. If we put gravel in the tank the fish would push it into piles and it would eat another fish.

get another alge eater …. and clean once a mo. at least… or sooner if needed … just to keep your water clean … check filters often … keep working with it you will get it down
