what kind of fish supplies should i buy?
i want to get a bigger tank(10 gallon)and care and breed black mollies.ive done research and every thing.i can't find a supply list for this kind of question.please help!!!1
ok, i have mollies, so heres my list if you are keeping and breeding them(im saying everything i have)
1 ten gallon tank
2 filter
3 heater
4 gravel (for the black mollies a lighter colored selection)
5 fake or live plants(i use fake, they dont require any maintenance, eccept to clean them every once in a while)
6 aquarium water conditioner
7 aquarium salt(use as directed, mollies like slightly salty water)
8 any medications in case of future sicknesses
9 fish food(i use tetramin tropical flakes)
10 a breeder net if you want to separate the babies
11 small hiding plants for the babies to put in the net, or in the tank
12 any small aquarium ornament you would like(driftwood maybe)
13 let the tank run for a few days b4 adding fish
14 setup the tank
15 put the fish in
16 and enjoy!!

liverade gave a very good answer. The only things he left off is that you should seriously think about doing a fishless cycle. This will prevent any fish from dying from new tank syndrome. You should also add some aquarium salt for the mollies. Email me if you have any questions.

To effectively breed and raise mollies, you will need at least two tanks of a minimum of 10 gallons each. Buying the "starter kits" from a large chain store will be the most economical way to get all of the equipment you need. Those tanks will not "need" covers, but that's never a bad idea. Basic needs are nothing more than the tank, a power filter for the tank with adults, a sponge filter for the birthing and rearing tank and a heater for each of them. Tons of plastic plants or spawning mops are good for the birthing tank and gravel if you like for the adult tank, but again the gravel is not needed and the birthing tank would be better without it so that you can keep it clean more easily.

10 gallons not that big the bigger the tank to longer the life. talk to a fish expert in pet stores

Since you haven't bought the tank yet it would be better a sightly larger tanks.
Mollies like more room. Fifteen gallons should be the smallest. Also Mollies are very susceptible to ich and you might need a small tank for a nursery.
All mollies are the same species so if you mix molly types you will end up with some strange fish.
Plastic plants easier to keep but fish love some fresh green plants. They will enjoy them.

You said a bigger tank – does that mean you have a 5 gallon or smaller? Keep in mind that a 10 g tank will hold very few fish when they are grown. It might be fine to start, but you might save money by buying a bigger one to start – I would start with a 20 g, and be sure to buy a breeder net or separator so the babies do not get eaten. Mollies like brackish water, so salt is a must. Other than the pump, food, and cycling the water, Mollies are very easy to breed.

i would get a tank bigger then a 10 gallon they multiply fast and you can usally get what they have called a kit that usally comes with your filter etc and make sure they have alot of things to hide in in which they will eat there babies

you don't need much. just set the tank up like you normally would(i.e. rocks, plants, that kind of thing) now when you fill the tank put some stress coat and AQUARIUM salt in the water. you can find the salt anywhere, including walmart(follow the directions as to how much to put in the tank!!) next you need your mollies—-do you know how to tell the sexes apart? you need about 3-5 females per male or the males will kill them if they aren't willing to breed. Also you will need to have some floating plants on top of your water for the fry to hide in once they born.
