Bad for the guppies, but perch are predacious. You can’t really blame it for their death.

    The big …
The big vallisnerias are from my “420 liters Asia tank” (previously one single plant from a pet store), the smaller vallisnerias in the background come from a river near my town (although they are not endemic in germany). The elodea is from an ordinary pet store, the ceratophyllum is out of my pond (I don’t know where it previously comes from) and the fontinalis is from ebay (because I couldn’t find it in the stores. It is endemic in europe/germany, but not where I live).

    I don’t know. I personally wouldn’t try it.
Some natural habitats overlap, but some species need warm water, and Pumpkinseeds are more cold water fish.

How big are they & …
How big are they & where did U get them (Pet Shop, fishing)?
Try live food/frozen food (e.g. mosquito larvae) and keep on feeding flakes (just a few, when they begin eat them, more).
Your tank must have good possibilities to hide (that’s mostly the reason of staying in one corner or behind the pump). You can divide it in several areas with big roots, stones or “walls” out of plants. So they can hide for U (if they are new and shy) and can also set up their territories or hide for a dominant male
