What temperature should water be in aquarium for tropical fish?
Depends on the type of fish you are keeping. The pet shop you bought them from should be able to advise. Most all tropical fish need above 72 degrees fahrenheit for sure.

i have a whole aquarium of tropical fish and i keep the waters temp at 70 % or 80% degrees F

A good average is 25C / 77F.
But that depends what fish you are keeping. Many barbs prefer temps down around 20C / 68F while Discus should be up at around 29C / 84F.

90% of the tropical fish that you can purchase just about anywhere, the temp shoud be between 74 and 78. The warmer it is in the tank the less chance a parasite has to stay alive and not harm your fish. If you ever need to treat your tank for any kind of desease, the first thing I do is turn up the heat up to 80 for about 2 weeks, then lower it back down to 74. You will also find that tropical fish are allot more active if the tank is warm as opposed to a colder tank.

I keep mine between 72 and 75. but some like it around 77 to 80. It would be safe to go to 75 so thats what all the fish you may have would like. Its a nice middle spot!
