But, yes a catfish in there would be awesome! Maybe a walking catfish, tigrinus, giant panaque pleco, etc. And, just love the gars!

Yeah, but then he’d have to figure out where he was going to house those catfish after about 1 year and 24 inches. Those guys get huge, and, no, they absolutely do not get to the size of the tank they are in. Their organs just stunt and they die.

I have one short nosed gar that looks to be the same size as yours. I would like to add more of a variety of gar’s when I upsize. They’re the best!

Nice tank, I have frontosa’s, but I use very hard water with crushed coral in my filtration to add more minerals to the water to mimick the lake conditions. How is yours doing with wood in the water and softer water conditions?
