HUGE 280 gallon aquarium for under $200!!! How to build plans! 125 150 280 500 1000 gallon fish tank

PLANS AVAILABLE!!! This is a 280 gallon corner aquarium built from plans that I purchased online for 20 bucks. Best 20 bucks I ever spent. =PThe TOTAL COST for this setup was less than $200 dollars. This includes the mechanical sump filter with built in wet/dry biological filter, the lights, all materials for the construction of the aquarium and stand, ect. I used to have a 55 gallon and wanted to upgrade but did not want to pay thousands for a comparable commercially available aquarium, so I did some research and thought Id try to build one. It was a challenging, yet fun project and the plans I bought guided me step by step along the way Initially I actually bought e-plans for 5 bucks off Ebay What a rip off Trust me. If you are considering building your own aquarium spend the extra few dollars for a nice set of plans. For around $20 I got a set of hard bound, informative, and clear plans complete with AutoCad drawings, pictures, and diagrams. Once again, Ill post a link to the site that sells them in a few days for now I am just trying to get my YouTube account set up. I am not the most skilled person in the workshop to say the least! Haha so trust me If I can build this anyone can! Just follow the steps.
It took me just over a month to build this from start to finish. I would work on it a few hours here and there in my spare time and am pretty happy with how it turned out. It is not quite done, however, and as you can see the exterior still looks a little rough. I have yet to stain the side braces as you can see and I would like to put some molding or something over the cracks where the exterior panels meet. (the plans actually said to cut the exterior panels at an angle so the edges are flush. I decided i thought it would look better if I put molding over the cracks. Just a matter of personal opinion here).
I also built the filtration system according to the plans. It is a 30 gallon hybrid mechanical/biological sump which filters nearly 2000 gallons per hour, keeping the water crystal clear and free of debris. As you can see, however, the water is a little bit cloudy. That is just because it is a new aquarium and is going through the cycling process. Hopefully it will clear up soon!
This is the first aquarium that I have constructed completely from scratch. I cant wait until I finish the exterior to make it look a little better. I am pretty happy with my progress so far, however, and am even more happy that I saved thousands over a comparable store-bought aquarium. Less than 200 bucks for a huge complete aquarium, stand, filter, ect. Not bad at all. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me! Ill get back to you as soon as I can. Good luck with your project!

How many times a day should I feed my blue betta fish?

I have a male blue betta fish named George. how many times a day should i feed him? my mom said I should feed him once every other day I have betta fish food (not pellets like of seen on other websites) someone please help me
i got him yesterday 8/26/09 and today the water is already cloudy is this normal?

You can feed the betta once a day, or as much as he can eat in a couple minutes. Three-five flakes will be fine. You should feed him a varied diet, and from-time-to-time, feed him some bloodworms or some other kind of nutritious, meaty food. Also, starve him for one day of the week every week, that way he doesn’t get constipated.

As for the cloudiness, did you cycle the tank? How big is it? If you did not cycle the tank, and if it’s just a bowl he’s living in, it’s probably cloudy because of a bacteria bloom, and that’s something to be concerned about. When there is a bacteria bloom, the ammonia and nitrite will spike, and that could kill you betta.

Hope this helps!
Good luck!

Saltwater Aquarium Nemo Clown fish Anemone

A small Saltwater Aquarium I made for the Kids. The Clown fish adopted the BubbleTip Anemone as soon as I put it in the Tank. The small False clown was also living with the big Maroon but got kicked out & now I am thinking to get another Anemone for it. Plus I wanna pair up both with their types. My Blue Tang (Yellow belly) & 80% of the fish are home bread in my spawning tanks. I think my live rock will be ready to add some more to this tank. More videos of my spawaning tanks soon.

Greedy african clawed frogs making piggies of themselves!

My pet frogs, Sparticus, Chicu and Kabibi doing their best ‘Cookie Monster’ impression while they eat their dinner!

These 3 frogs are all African Clawed Frogs. (Xenopus)
This species of frog is completely aquatic. The large white one is a female albino Xenopus Laevis, and the smaller ones are both male Xenopus Mulleri. They live on a diet mainly of frog pellets and occassional earth worms. They have a 20 gallon tank which is really the minimum for two of these frogs, but the boys are much smaller that regular xenopus laevis. They’re all about 4 or 5 years old, and with luck and care could live for another 10 years.

Thanks for watching! :3

Links to places where you can purchase frog pellets below:
This uk based supplier:

http://shop.pollywog.co.uk/index.php/cPath/41?osCsid=4fv63fhm4lfq5lbg1p60uqgtp6

USA based supplier:

http://www.xenopus.com/products.htm#food

Its a website that supplies frogs and food for research but anyone can buy from it.

But if neither of them suit, you can feed your frogs on Tetra Reptomin Terrapin pellets. Thats available from most petshops and online pet suppliers.
Its important that these pellets are included in the froggies diets as they give the right mix of nutrients for them to stay strong and healthy!
