How often do male betta fish make bubbles at the top of their tank?

I am going to breed betta fish. My male betta fish has already started making a bubble nest. I want to breed my fish in a couple of months. During those months I will have to clean my males fish tank. So that means that his bubble nest will be gone. Will my male betta fish remake his bubble nest?? And how often do they make bubble nests in their life??

Frequency of nest building depends on the individual.

Properly conditioning the pair should be enough to cause him to build a nest. Adding the female to the tank in a hurricane lamp keeps her safe from the male, and allows him to see her. You should also raise the temperature of your water to 82F. Nest building is often prompted by a water change.

What type of fish to put in my 29 gallon tanks?

i was think of adding

harleguin rasboras
sissortails
tiger barbs
blleding heart tetras
puffer fish
pleco
catfish
snails
shrimps
discuss
african butterfly fish
i know its overcrowded so i want u to cut down my list. you can also add some of your favorite fish to it besides bettas and mollie

What do you have in your tank currently?

Without knowing what you currently have, I can only tell you the following:

Tiger Barbs: NOTORIOUS fin nippers. Do NOT put them in a tank with any fish having long fins or fish that are highly territorial.

Puffer fish: Do NOT mix any puffer with other fish in a 29g tank. ALL puffers are highly aggressive and are really best suited for specimen only tanks. Green Spotted/Figure 8 Puffers are brackish water fish and dwarf puffers are freshewater, but extremely territorial and aggressive

Plecos: Common plecos reach lengths up to 2 feet in length and need neutral to slightly acidic water (6.00 – 7.0 pH)

Catfish: many different varieties here. Some get extremely large.

Shrimp: Need lots of space and nip fins. Don't mix unless you have a heavily planted tank with lots of hiding spaces. Also need a very stable, mature biologic filter

Discus: NO!! These fish need a specimen tank. They are VERY difficult to keep and should only be kept by expert aquarists. They have VERY specific pH, lighting and pH requirements and need a minimum 55g tall tank.

What site do you recommend for aquarium supplies?

I am a new marine aquarist and I'm trying to find a good website that sells various salt water tank supplies, such as tanks, filters, skimmers, etc. I am also looking for a trusted supplier of tank furniture that can support 150+ gallon aquariums.
I'm in the U.S.

Bigalsonline.com has an excellent selection and great prices. Drsfosterandsmith.com also has an excellent selection and good prices. Petsmart.com is good too. With Petsmart.com, you can print out their on-line prices and bring it to their stores and they will honor the on-line price.

Are Pearly gold angelfish marine fish or freshwater tropical fish?

I wuz wondring…Are Pearly gold angelfish marine fish or freshwater tropical fish? and if they are freshwater tropical, will they eat my african dwarf frog? what other fishes would go with a dwarf frog and angelfish?

Freshwater. Angelfish seems to have acquired a poor reputation for chasing and eating smaller fish. Until they are about 7cm (2.8in long) they are relatively harmless, and are quite peaceful.

As they grow bigger, they tend to prey on smaller fish including your frog. Stay with fish that will remain small like small catfish, guppies, beta fish, tetras, swordtails and platies.

How much electricity does a tropical fish tank use?

I am thinking of getting some tropical fish, but do not want to pay a huge bill for the electricity to run the heater for the tank.
How much electicity does the heater for the tank use? Would it be expensive?
I would have a medium/small tank.

Look for the electrical tag on the tank, heater and light. Multiply wattage (100W or whatever) by time used per day. Then multiply that number by the cost per Kilowatt hour (provided by your electrical company. This will give you the cost per day in cents..

note : 127 watts = .127 Kw so put watts into Kw before calculating. Obviously, multiply your cost per day by 365 to
get yearly cost. Shouldnt be more than 30$…

Energy per day = power ( watts ) x ( TIME PER DAY)

Cost per day = energy per day x cost per Kw

25 gallon aquarium / fish tank setup? community fish?

I have just bought a 25 gallon aquarium,. has gravel, plants etc. i have 5 white cloud mountain minnows (gonna get 3 more) in it allready and a filterand water conditioner etc. i can buy a heater if neccessary.
what community of fish could i put in as a peaceful community of interesting fish.
i would prefer coldwater setup aswers but any are welcome.
please tell me a selection of fish i could putin to create a community tank.
thanks nick

First get the tank cycled, begin testing for ammonia.Hint: it will take a few days or even a week to begin showing up. It will take 4 to 6 weeks to cycle the tank. During this time you should only do one tiny feeding a day. Also cold water tanks take longer to cycle than warmer ones,so be patient. When you get your tank ready to support more fish there are some very interesting Loaches that come from cold water environment that would make good tank mates for your White Clouds. Some specific names would be Kuhlii Loach or Weatherfish or Weather Loach, Horse Face Loach, more.
