is it better to have a longer aquarium, or a higher aquarium?
I want a new aquarium, and have saved up enough money to buy a 125 gallon. I was wondering is it better for the 125 to be longer or higher. I will be keeping small african cichlids in their! I have all the other supplies, just need the tank.
for africans you definitely want a longer tank then a higher
they're hiding out in rocks and decorations and need the length to swim

Aquarium Fish Tank Driftwood?
My Aunt had some driftwood in her garage which she probably found in her yard, or by a lake. Since I have been wanting to grow aquatic plants in my fish tank for quite some time, and hear that they grow well on driftwood, would it be ok for me to use it in my fish tank? How could I clean it properly? Or do I need to buy some from a pet-store?
Hiya there, depends on where she got it, ask her. If she bought it at a pet store, it should be okay, but if she just found it laying around i suggest you should pour boiling water over it outside or in your bath, doesn't matter, and then let it sun dry for at least a day, this should kill the bacteria and it should work fine for years to come, hope it works
