I’m a beginner so I just want some small little fish like guppies or teras or something like that and I was wondering what all I need to put in the tank. I know I need
1. the tank with a hood
2. a filter
3. gravel
4. some plants and decorations
4. water conditioner
I was wondering if I needed a heater really or if it’s just an unnecessary thing. Do tetras and guppies and fish like that really need a hot tank?
Hiya,
I would deffinatly get a Heater – you wouldn’t want them to die.
You will need to cycle your aquarium before getting Fish – see http://www.tropicalfishcentre.co.uk/Fishlesscycle.htm
Remember to plan how you want your aquarium to look, I prefer natural aquariums, I’m sure your fish would too! You could have a curved corner of plants with plant substrate, with rocks separating it from a nice sandy substrate. A little pile of rocks, some moss growing on some bogwood.
It would looks stunning!

As of December 25th I am proud to announce the birthday (or anniversary) of my 10 gallon saltwater nano reef aquarium. It is now exactly 1 year old. Keep watching videos for more things in the future. Happy new year! (P.S. I know this is the first video that has my entire face in it and I know all of my subscribers are going to constantly comment on this, so don’t annoy me about it!)
Guys, CALM DOWN! There are too many fish in the tank and I know, but considering their sizes currently, they’re actually doing great! I have a modified filter (extra carbon and Zeolites crystals) and I change the filter every 2 weeks with a 25 % water change, and I do a gravel vacuum and 50% water change every 4 weeks so the water quality is very good!
my new apple snails and my power head that i got today.
